Why do I feel this when we are making out?

I get turned on by my boyfriend when we hold hands, cuddle, he plays with my hair, looks into my eyes, light kisses, or if he whispers in my ear. I haven't had much kissing experience before and neither has he. If I'm turned on before we kiss, however, the kiss is always amazing! I'm sexually attracted to him because I get turned on but often when we kiss I don't. I enjoy the kiss but his mouth is very wet and when he kisses it seems really sloppy. Maybe it takes time. What do you think?
