Seriously, Why Do Attractive Girls PREFER Funny-Looking Guys?

Despite the light nature of this topic, I ask this question VERY seriously and would appreciate a serious answer. I know there has ALWAYS been a tendency among Hollywood women to go with oddball guys, but now it seems to have spread to all women. One example is the reasonably attractive Kirsten Powers who, it turns out, not only dated Anthony Weiner, she's now married to a guy who's every bit as odd looking as Weiner. I witness these kinds of mismatches every day I go to the swimming pool, where I always see model-fit women with jellyroll guys. I'm even starting to wonder if I should stop staying fit and just let myself get sloppy in the hope of attracting women. Before anyone says that the that odd looking guys are more faithful, don't make me remind you of the downright bizarre looking Mutt Lange, who CHEATED on the very attractive Shania Twain. Please help me here.
